Did you know?
Fish living in the oceans around Antarctica seem like they should freeze to death. But notothenioids have it all figured out, thanks to the antifreeze proteins in their blood!

Evergreen Trees prevent their needles from freeze-damage in the winter through freezing-point-depression.  Read more here!

Tie-Dye Lab Supplies Assignment:  Yes, this is worth points.
On the day of the Tie-Dye Lab (5/14 or 5/15) students are assigned to bring:
  • 3 plastic grocery bags
  • 3 pieces of corrugated cardboard*  (About 1 foot square for spiders & spirals, approximately 0.5 x 3 ft for stripes, fans, and bullseyes.)
  • A white 100% cotton t-shirt (Yes, it can have a logo screened on it (like an old Spirit Bowl t-shirt) if you don't want to find a blank shirt.
*That's 3 pieces of corrugated cardboard.  Cut up a box and bring the pieces-- do NOT bring a box to class!
Unit 15 Test Retake Deadline
5/20 at 2:45 pm
*If you missed a quiz due to an excused absence, you will need to come to the classroom to make it up.   It is in the Quiz binder at the front of the class.  Quizzes given in each unit must be made up by that unit's scheduled test date.  Take the quiz on your own half-sheet of lined paper, fill out a late-work-form, staple it to the quiz, and turn it into to LATE basket.  If you are making up a quiz due to a tardy, it will cost a punch on your slacker pass.
